Programmes And Services

Our Programmes are focused on Therapeutic Communities

Spiritual Programmes

We have spiritual programmes that help the residents grow in their walk with God. Our main programmes include bible studies, fellowship and befriending of churchmates. These programmes encourage residents to connect more with God and to lean on Him for strength and support.

Emotional Programmes

Emotional programmes include our emotional literacy classes and counselling. We provide group and individual counselling, as well as the mandated STAR programme from prisons. Some of our emotional programmes use different methodologies to connect with the residents and get them to learn more about themselves to control their emotions better. Some of such programmes are our Lego SeriousPlay workshops and our animal assisted interactions.

Physical Programmes

At The Turning Point, we try to recreate a positive and safe environment for residents to relax and reflect. We have many physical programmes in place for the residents to take time connecting to the world and things around them. We have designated exercise times, baking programmes for them to experiment in the kitchen, as well as silkie chickens that keep us company as pets. The cookies that our residents bake are sometimes sold for fundraising.

Lifeskills Programmes

Our lifeskills programmes aim to equip our residents with important skills to survive in society when they are released. This includes training them on computer skills, financial literacy, HR skills, and more! At The Turning Point, residents learn the importance of being financially smart, and will be able to come up with their own resumes to apply for jobs alongside their caseworkers.

Family Programmes, Outings & Community Work

The Turning Point places much emphasis on family support and giving back to the community. Family members are allowed to visit our residents every week, with occasional family outings and talks, to equip the families with necessary skills to support the residents when they are released. We also have biweekly community work, where residents give back to communities such as patients in dementia wards and people with special needs. Residents are also brought out on outings by volunteers or staff, for learning and to better their mental health.
